Using basic breath awareness, we will create a connection between our mind , the action of breathing and our body. We will then use that discovered connection to explore a physical,breath-based relationship to another person by being asked to breathe in sync with them while sitting back to back. The group will physically"explore" the breath of every person in the room in the same way.The awareness created by these encounters will then inform a series of breath-based movement improvisations. This activity is a foundational exercise for ensemble building in the performance arts and create an intimate, physical, non-verbal, non-sexual connection with each performer in the group. It creates "real" knowing on a body-based level.
